Amir Sarmadi

Tax Accountant

Amir began his working career as an engineer in a textile factory during 2000, after having graduated in Chemical (Textile) engineering from the Guilan University in Iran. He worked for 9 years as an engineer and a further 3 years as a sales and marketing specialist, before immigrating to Australia.

Upon arriving in Australia, Amir decided to change his career path to begin working in the accounting and finance sector. He studied the Diploma of Accounting at TAFE South Australia,  before working as a Tax Help Volunteer for the ATO office in Adelaide in 2017.

Amir went on to complete a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree at the University of South Australia and began his accounting career at Success Tax Professionals in 2019.

Since then, he has gained considerable experience as a public accountant. Amir has attained various skills required for the profession, such as preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for Sole traders, Partnerships, Companies, Trust and SMSF including preparation of IAS & BAS.

Amir joined Sheridans in July 2021 with a primary role to provide support to our senior accountants in the process of preparation of financial statements and tax returns for our Individual and Business clients.

Outside of work Amir enjoys spending time with his family and playing social tennis with friends.
